If you want to convert your video to audio, you can do it easily using VLC media player without using any additional software. Using the steps shown below you can convert mp4 to mp3, flv to mp3, or convert any other video format supported by VLC to audio formats supported by VLC.
1. Launch VLC Media Player and open the video file you want to extract the audio track.
2. Click on the Media menu tab at the top of VLC Media Player and then click Convert / Save.

3. Now in the Open Media window click on the Add button and browse to the location of the video file you want to convert and after you have it click the Convert / Save button.

4. This opens a new window where you can choose the destination and extract audio format.

5. Now click on the Edit Selected Profile button.

7. Now under the Audio Codec tab choose the MP3 codec, choose a Bitrate, amount of channels, Sample Rate, and then click the Save button.

8. Click on the "Start" button to start the process of converting video files. Once completed you will find the audio file in the destination folder.
