Create Shortcuts

At first, you'll need to create all your shortcuts in a single folder. So let create a folder called Shut down and then create all the shortcut wizard in that folder.

Create Shortcut For Shut Down

1. To create a shortcut, right-click on an open area of the Windows 8 Desktop, click New, and then click Shortcut.
2. In the shortcut location box, type the following code, and then click Next.

3. In the name box, type Shutdown, and then click Finish.


Add Icon to Shut Down
4. Right-click on this shut down shortcut and then click Properties.
5. Click Change Icon, If an error message displays, click OK to continue.


















6. Now select the Power icon, and then click OK.

Create Shortcut For Restart

1. Right-click on Desktop, click New, and then click Shortcut.
2. In the shortcut location box, type the following code, and then click Next.

3. In the name box, type Restart, and then click Finish.

4. Right-click on this Restart shortcut and then click Properties.
5. Click Change Icon, If an error message displays, click OK to continue.
6. Now choose an icon for Restart and then click OK.

Create Shortcut For Logoff

1. Right-click on Desktop, click New, and then click Shortcut.
2. In the shortcut location box, type the following code, and then click Next.

3. In the name box, type Logoff, and then click Finish.

4. Right-click on this Restart shortcut and then click Properties.
5. Click Change Icon, If an error message displays, click OK to continue.
6. Now choose an icon and then click OK.

Create Shortcut For Hibernate

1. Right-click on Desktop, click New, and then click Shortcut.
2. In the shortcut location box, type the following code, and then click Next.

3. In the name box, type Hibernate, and then click Finish.

Create Shortcut For Lock

1. Right-click on, click New, and then click Shortcut.
2. In the shortcut location box, type the following code, and then click Next.

3. In the name box, type Lock, and then click Finish.

Create Shortcut For Switch User

1. Right-click on Desktop, click New, and then click Shortcut.
2. In the shortcut location box, type the following code, and then click Next.

3. In the name box, type Switch User, and then click Finish.

Creating the toolbar

The Shut down folder contains all the shortcuts you have created. Now you can create the toolbar.
1. To create the toolbar, right-click on the taskbar and then select the Toolbars and then click on New Toolbar.









2. Now select the Shut down folder which contains all the shortcuts.













3. Now your new Shut down menu will now appear on the right edge of the taskbar.










You can leave it there or you can move it to the far left if you want. Use at the right edge, so you can easily Shut down, Restart, Lock, Log off, Hibernate, or Switch user right from the Windows 8 desktop.
